Photos - Unbelievable! 52-year-old Man Abandons Wife and Seven Kids to Live as 6-year-old transgender Girl

A 52-year-old man who abandoned his wife and children to live as a 6-year-old transgender girl with an adopted couple has raised controversy over the internet. The Canadian man who was married, with seven kids, left his family in order to fulfill his true identity - as a six-year-old girl.

In an emotional video with gay news site The Daily Xtra in collaboration with The Transgender Project, Stefonknee (pronounced ‘Stef-on-knee’) Wolscht, 52, of Toronto, says she realized she was transgender - rather that simply a cross-dresser - at age 46, and split from her wife, Maria, after she told her husband to 'stop being trans or leave'.

Now, Stefonknee lives with friends who she calls her 'adoptive mommy and daddy' as a six-year-old girl, dressing in children's clothing and spending her time playing and coloring with her adoptive parents' grandchildren. The 6 feet two inches tall woman says she is much happier now as a woman. After being rejected by her family, she moved into the home of a lovely couple, who adopted her as a 6-year-old girl because she doesn't want to live as an adult at this time.

Wolschtt made her final decision after being hospitalized for a month following a suicide attempt. After being discharged from the hospital, her wife accused her of harassment and assault, and pressed charges against her in order to get an order of protection. 3 years ago, her eldest daughter invited Wolschtt to her wedding, but asked her to dress like her dad and sit in the back of the church. The day of the wedding, Wolschtt tried to commit suicide, but was not successful

Stefonknee, who previously went by the name Paul, worked as a mechanic and was a dedicated member of the Catholic church, says she was trans before she got married to Maria after high school, but wasn't educated about what that meant, and was terrified of being different. Stefonknee says she has found happiness that eluded her for a long time now as she has now found acceptance at Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto, where much of the congregation is made up of LGBT members who have formed a special support group just for her.
