Older brother of female rapper Nicki Minaj appeared in court yesterday for the first time after being accused of the rape of a minor.
Nicki Minaj's brother, Jemani Maraj appeared at the Nassau County courthouse in Mineola, New York on Wednesday, December 9, for a preliminary hearing over the alleged rape of a 12-year-old.
The 37-year-old arrived at the court with his mother Carol and lawyer Andrea Zellan for the hearing to schedule his upcoming trial.
Maraj was charged with first-degree rape and first-degree sexual assault of a 12-year-old last week in Long Island.
He is alleged to have had sex with the pre-teen on multiple ocassions. He was freed from Nassau County jail after his $100,000 was allegedly paid for by his famous sister.
Nicki, 32, was in attendance at her brother's wedding to fiancée Jacqueline Robinson just three months ago at the Coral House in Baldwin, New York.
She splashed $30,000 for his big day and allegedly left a $11,000 Emilio Pucca dress at the venue after choosing a red designer gown.
Minaj is yet to comment on her brother being charged
