Bricklayer kills Girlfriend, Dumps Corpse Inside A Pit Toilet

Scene-of-the-incident-360x270 (1)
Residents of the Balogun Agoro area of Osogbo, the Osun State capital were on Thursday shocked to discover the remains of a 20-years-old lady, suspected to have been killed and dumped inside a pit toilet by her boyfriend.
Punch correspondent, during a visit to the area, learnt that the suspect, identified simply as Soji, is a bricklayer and had been dating the lady for some years.
A resident of the area, who declined identification, said residents of the area did not know that there was a corpse inside the toilet until policemen from the Dugbe Division came to evacuate the remains of the lady.
He said some residents had complained about the stench of decaying flesh from the toilet, adding that nobody thought it was a human being that was dumped there.
The resident said Soji used to pour disinfectant into the toilet to suppress the stench, adding that nobody knew while he was doing it until the police came on Sunday and evacuated the body of the lady.
He added that the deceased used to come to stay with the suspect for weeks.
He said, “Policemen came on Sunday and picked the lady’s body from the toilet. They broke the wall before they could remove her.
The man’s name is Soji. The police initially arrested the wrong person because that one’s name is also Soji. But I learnt that they have released the innocent man.”
Another resident said nobody was sure if the suspect killed his girlfriend.
He said, “The lady might have died and the man, out of fear, dumped her body inside the toilet.”
An elder in the area, Alhaji Ajibade Adisa, told our correspondent that the suspect was still on the run.
Efforts to get the reaction of the Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Folasade Odoro, were unsuccessful.

The Sector Commander, Mr Andrew Kumapayi, disclosed the ban while addressing journalists in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
He warned that anyone caught selling alcoholic drinks at any motor park would be arrested and prosecuted and urged drivers to desist from drinking and driving to save their lives and other road users.
Kumapayi explained that the ban was in compliance with the directives from the FRSC Headquarters, Abuja, which, after long period of statistical analysis it was found out that the increasing level of road accidents is traceable to drunk driving.
The FRSC sector commander also urged drivers to avoid excessive speed when driving, especially as the festive season was approaching, adding that traffic signs and rules should be obeyed in driving.
He also said enlightenment campaign had been taken to the 23 local government areas in the state to stop the sale of alcohol at motor parks, stating that the ban would be monitored across the state.

Kenny Saint Best Explains Why She Makes Music For The Streets

The singer cum politician still has plans to hold public office in spite of losing at the All Progressives Congress primaries in 2014 when she ran as a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Gospel singer Kenny Saint Best.
She said: “Music is my first calling. It is my real profession, while politics takes second place. Nothing can take me away from music because it runs deep in my blood. In fact, every Sunday I go from one church to another and sing. I don’t make noise about it because it is my life.”
She also explained that she set out to make music with street credibility given her intentions to affect the lives of the average Nigerians.
“I set out to create a kind of gospel music that would be accepted by the average Nigerian on the street. I am talking about gospel music that has ‘street credibility’ – the type that deejays are happy to play alongside other kinds of music and even area boys (or street urchins) will be glad to listen to,” she said.
Speaking on her reason for targeting the average Nigerians at beer joints and night clubs, she said she isn’t doing gospel music for those who already lead a religious life but for those lagging behind in their Christian lives. She said: “This is the reason why I have settled for gospel music: to reach out to this kind of people and spread the good news to them. Since they will definitely not come to church on worship days, the gospel has to reach them anyhow. And one of the ways to draw them closer to God is to present gospel music in a way that they will accept.”
Kenny Saint Best is a Nigerian gospel singer formerly married to afro pop singer Eddy ‘Remedy’ Brown.

She was also formerly signed to pioneer music label Kennis Music

Stephen Keshi’s Team Was Better Than That Of Oliseh - Kpakor

Former Nigerian International, Moses Kpakor, has stated that the present crop of players that make-up the Super Eagles have not given him anything to hope for.
The Benue state born player laments the continued experimentation by the team for many years now, saying Sunday Oliseh is yet to impress him, Dailypost reports.

“Well, the Eagles of today have not yet given me anything to hope for a great future. In fact, if we could struggle against Swaziland, then it means we have not yet got things even closer to what we were before we sacked (former coach) Stephen Keshi,” said Kpakor.
Kpakor
“It is like we have just started all over again. This is our biggest undoing. I mean, that there are too many new players in the team right now, and the implication is that the coach is either starting things afresh or experimenting. Of course, he is the coach and he’s entitled to his plans or how he wants things done, that I concede to him.
“But sometimes we need to do things in the national interest and so far, he has not done anything to impress me in that regard,” Kpakor added.
Meanwhile, Coach Sunday Oliseh had delayed the team list of the  home based Eagles list for the 2016 African Nations Championship sighting technical issues.
Nigeria play  in Group C alongside Tunisia, Niger and Guinea for the tournament which will be hosted by Rwanda in January 2016.

Fraud Suspect Dies In EFCC’s Custody

download
Tragedy has hit the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, after a suspect in its custody, suddenly developed chest pains, and died.
Arowofela Olufemi, who was being investigated by the commission following allegations by the Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC, that he fraudulently converted over N100 million dividend warrants to himself, died in a military hospital, where he was rushed to by officials of the EFCC.
A statement made available to Vanguard yesterday indicated that Olufemi had complained of chest pains early in the day and was rushed to an unnamed military hospital in Lagos, where he gave up the ghost before doctors could attend to him.
The EFCC statement was signed by its spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, who said  the cause of the suspect’s death was unknown as at the time of going to the press.
Uwujaren said: “The cause of the sudden death is yet to be ascertained even as the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the mortuary of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital. The family of the deceased has already been notified of the incident while the matter has been reported to the Onikan Division of the Nigeria Police.
It will be recalled that the late Olufemi was arrested following a complaint by the SEC, alleging that he was involved in fraudulent conversion of dividend warrants of over N100 million.
Following the report by SEC, operatives of EFCC arrested him at the premises of a bank while attempting to cash alleged stolen dividend warrants.
After his arrest and detention, he was offered administrative bail but could not produce a surety to perfect his bail thereby leading to extended incarceration.

Photo - Man Stabs Landlord To Death In Lagos

Some hoodlums started a street fight on Olorogun Street, Odo Eran, in the Itire area of Lagos State on Tuesday, during which a 21-year-old stabbed a landlord, identified as Alawu Lateef, to death.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Lateef, who was a father of three, had intervened in the fight, and asked the hoodlums to leave the area, when one of them, identified as Lati Elepo , stabbed the landlord.

It was gathered that the father of three slumped, while residents arrested Elepo before he could escape with the other hoodlums. The matter was said to have been reported at the Itire Police Division.

Our correspondent learnt that the hoodlums, numbering six boys, had come from Osindero Street to meet one Balogun, who they claimed owed them about N30,000.

It was learnt that when the hoodlums did not meet Balogun at home, they started to make trouble on the street.
The landlord, Lateef, who worked as a panel beater, was said to have asked
Elepo to leave the area with his gang members. The hoodlum, however, stabbed him in the chest.

Friends and family members rushed the landlord to a private hospital in the area, from where he was referred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba, where he was confirmed dead.
His corpse was afterwards brought to the Itire division.

When PUNCH Metro visited the area, one of his neighbours, who identified himself simply as Rashidi, said Lateef did not have any business with the miscreants, but only tried to pacify them when Elepo stabbed him on the chest.

Rashidi added that Elepo and two other suspects were arrested by the police.
He said, “It was at about 11am when these boys from Osindero stormed our street. They are teenagers. They are not cultists. They said Balogun owed them N30,000 which they must collect from him.

“Lateef did not want such commotion on the street. So, he came out to caution them to take things calmly. The one who stabbed him was drunk.

“While Lateef spoke with them, the suspect went to a shop of an artisan who sharpens knives and other metals, grabbed about three knives and stabbed Lateef on the chest. Resident arrested him and dragged him to the police station while other hoodlums ran away.”

The landlord’s wife was said to be too distraught to talk with PUNCH Metro as of the time of visit.

Another neighbour, who spoke on condition of anonymity said, “Lateef was a nice man. His wife gave birth to their third child just two months ago. If Balogun was around, Lateef would not have intervened in the rampage.”

Our correspondent gathered that policemen visited the street in the evening and raided other suspected hoodlums lurking in the area.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joe Offor, said he would get back to our correspondent on the incident.
He, however, had yet to get back as of press time.

Pope Francis Honours 43 Christians Burnt Alive In Uganda

Up to two million people today turned out to see Pope Francis honour Ugandan Christian martyrs who were tortured and burned alive by a tyrant king
F
Twenty-three Anglican and Twenty-Two Catholic martyrs were executed a century ago on the orders of King Mwanga II, of Buganda Kingdom in central Uganda. Their deaths between 1885 and 1887 were punishment for refusing to renounce their faith or submit to the ruler’s alleged sexual advances.
During this morning’s Mass, a somber Francis urged Catholics to follow in the Christians’ missionary zeal and spread the faith at home and abroad.
He told them to take care of ‘the elderly, the poor, the widowed and the abandoned’ – and also prayed at shrines dedicated to the 45 martyrs. He was watched by attendees including Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, the president of South Sudan and the descendant of Mwanga.
During the Holy Mass for the Martyrs of Uganda, Francis first prayed at the gruesome sanctuary dedicated to the Anglicans in Namugongo, outside of Kampala, where most of the martyrs were killed. He knelt before part of the same tree where the men were tortured before being burned alive.
He then prayed at the Catholic shrine and celebrated Mass in their honor to mark the 50th anniversary of the Catholics’ canonization.

Man Declared Wanted For ‘Mistakenly’ Withdrawing 45 Million Paid Into His Account , Speaks

effj

And the man speaks…
On the Withdrawal of Money Purported to Have Been Wrongly Credited to My Account by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and My Allegedly Being Wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission (EFCC)
My attention has been drawn to the falsehood being circulatedon some social and print media platforms with my above photograph claiming that I am wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for withdrawing N45 million purported to have been wrongly credited to my account by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
For the avoidance of doubt, let me state categorically that the deposit was not made in error.
The said amount was credited to my account with Diamond Bank Plc in 2012 for a contract I have with the Ministry of Petroleum Resources for the lease of three (3) helicopters from Tunisia for the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR).
The helicopters were former President Umaru Musa Yar’Aduas idea to prevent the DPR from hiring helicopters from the International Oil Companies (IOCs)they were supposed to police.
The N45 million was part payment of the mobilisation for the contract. The full mobilization is N110 million, and a total of N90 million has been paid by the ministry as mobilisation.
However, some staff of the CBN and the Ministry of Petroleum Resources wanted me to launder the money and share it with them without supplying the helicopters for the stipulated service but I refused, insisting that it was against my principles. Our nation will continue to crawl behind other nations of the world if we all continue to acquiesce to such corrupt propositions and compromise the integrity of such or any contracts.
I am ready to fight whoever is behind these false publications because I have God behind me and no one can defeat me in such a just cause no matter how highly placed. The money was used to take the officers of the DPR and the Ministry of Petroleum Resources on an inspection visit to Tunisia.
Officials of the Civil Aviation authorities also travelled for the inspection of the helicopters with officers of Aero Contractors who were to operate the helicopters. Also, officials and crew of the Tunisian company, Tunisiavia, visited Nigeria to inspect the facilities here in Nigeria where the helicopters will operate.
The N45m was used to finance all these inspections and the expenses were foreign exchange dominated. At the end of the successful inspection, I was paid N45m and a letter to the effect that we successfully completed the first phase of the contract was sent to Fidelity Bank Plc.
In another development, I reported some staff of DPR for asking me for bribe with evidence and EFCC and ICPC took no action. At the end of these inspections, the Ministry of Petroleum Resources was supposed to pay N370m for the helicopters to be ferried to Nigeria in accordance with the terms of the contract. At this stage they refused to make the payment, hence the current stalemate.
Since this matter is in the Federal High court and International court of arbitration for adjudication, I prefer not to give further details at present beyond what is necessary in response to the current effort to slander me with such false publications.
I am not on the run from the EFCC because they know my office in Abuja and my residence. I have no need to run from anybody but no one can intimidate me. The rule of law must be followed at all times. The truth must prevail over lies. I sacrificed my life for 30 years in the military for this nation and cannot at this stage change my habits at 61.

Photos : Obese Woman Loses 107kg after Splitting from Fat Fetishist Boyfriend

Patty-Sanchez
Patty Sanchez has gone from 327kg to 215kg after years of constant eating with the encouragement of her ex-boyfriend and online fat fetishists.
At one point Patty wanted to be the heaviest woman in the world and spent several years consuming a whopping 13,000 calories per day. But after breaking up with her ex-partner she changed her diet and lifestyle.
The 51-year-old mum-of-four, who plans to shed more pounds, said her weight loss had dramatically improved both her personal and family life. MirrorUk reports that she said:
“I was tremendous – and I was dying a slow death. I realised that the feeding relationship I was in and the squashing was benefiting others, but it wasn’t for me.
I never feared death before – it was something I never thought about when I was getting bigger and bigger. But when I reached my lowest and couldn’t walk to the bathroom without getting winded I was worried I wouldn’t be there for my kids and grandkids.
My struggles didn’t fully surface until I was single and had no one to help me and couldn’t cook, bathe, or leave the house – it was very lonely. The weight loss had a lot to do with my break up with my ex – I was being served every meal daily, and when we broke up I had to take care of myself.
I started learning how to make my own meals, and chose the food I was craving instead of the food others wanted me to eat to gain weight.
Patty, who used to be a size eight, divorced her second husband in 1991. In 2000, Patty met her ex who introduced her to the gainer-feedee relationship.
“We dated for 10 years and at first he wasn’t interested in big women, but he said I opened up a new world to him and he enjoyed it. He told me that he had fantasies about being with a girl and making her fatter.
I felt sexy and was happy that I was pleasing him. Ninety per cent of our relationship revolved around eating – I loved to cook and eat and he loved to watch me eat and rub my belly.”
Patty said he even enlisted a group of fans who paid to feed her and keep her weight up while he was away for work.
“The bigger I got the more he loved it and it made me happy. I suffered from not getting the love I needed and wanted from my two prior husbands and with my ex it was different.
He was very verbal and liked my body and I didn’t need approval from him the way I did in my other relationships.”

But Patty’s family, including her two sons Scott Webber, 30 and Logan Webber, 28, pictured above with her were concerned about her rapid weight gain. Today, with their help, Patty eats 3,000 calories a day and is more mobile.
She said:
“I stay away from fast food and eat more vegetables, fruits and poultry.
“Now I can do things that people take for granted that I couldn’t do – like walk, bathe, and paint my toenails which I couldn’t reach for years.
“My children are very proud of me for changing my life around – we have a better relationship now.
“I would advise women who are in feeding relationships to make sure that you’re not just doing it for your partner and to fulfill their needs, make sure it’s for you too.
“I don’t have any regrets because I honestly came to my senses and saved my own life.”

Two Ghanaians Arrested In Amsterdam For Pounding Fufu In Their Flat On 7th Floor

Amsterdam would pass as second Kumasi—with several Ghanaians having made the place their first home because of the high standard of living and countless economic opportunities the capital of Netherlands presents.
Of course with such great opportunities and order come the laws which make the country attractive; and everyone living in Netherlands, even if from the Amazon forest or Tuobodom must abide by the laws of the land.

But Ghanaians love their fufu and light soup and though the Dutch do not really have a problem with Ghanaians eating their local dishes, the cooking/preparation must all be done within the laws of the land.

In spite of the liberal mindset and the immeasurable hospitality of the Dutch, they do not joke with their nuisance laws—the reason why Holland is peaceful, clean and orderly.

For two Ghanaians living at Bijlmer Arena in Amsterdam, the Neat Fufu which almost every Ghanaian abroad have to eat in place of the actual pounded fufu Ghanaians enjoy back home is not enough—to be frank, it does not taste and feel like the real fufu.

So after many years of struggling to eat Neat Fufu and their Prekese soup, the satisfaction kept depreciating and the hanker for the real pounded fufu kept growing.

Therefore, during their recent visit to Ghana, they managed to bring fufu Mortar and Pestle via KLM to Amsterdam—and around 10pm last week after they returned from work, they started their fufu pounding in their flat on the 7th floor.

According to police sources, about 15 neighbours who were being disturbed by the heavy pounding kept calling to report the nuisance.

Eventually when the police stormed the apartment, the two had finished pounding their fufu and were settled, ready to eat.

They were arrested for nuisance—a warning was not enough, because these same couple had already been warned 3 times, 2 for playing loud Amakye Dede songs at night—and the other, for unnecessary car beeping when they drive pass their friends.

During the arrest, ScrewLife.Com is told the couple begged the police to allow them to at least finish eating their fufu and Prekese soup, with crabs swimming all over in the soup.

But the police refused because they did not have time to wait around. The two will soon appear before a judge with a short prison sentence and fine hanging around their necks.

Paris Atack: France Seeks Nigeria’s Help

Following terrorists’ coordinated attacks in Paris, France on 13th November which left 130 persons dead, the French Director of Military Intelligence, General Christophe Gormert wednesday visited the Nigerian Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) with a view to seeking knowledge on how Nigerian security agencies were handling the challenge of Boko Haram terrorism.
“In the area of geo-spatial intelligence, we will seriously rely on you to help us develop that capacity. We are in the process of setting up that department. It’s‎ my first time in Abuja and it’s a good reason to visit you on boko haram and see how we can share intelligence; that is the reason for my visit” the Gen. Gormert said.
Continuing he said, “I believe in building up capacity we must leverage on our capable partners like you to help us from the level which we were, to a higher level.
“Like you know this phenomenon of global terrorism is catching all nations napping. It’s something we did not prepare ‎for including developing countries like Nigeria. We have to evolve new ways of tackling them and stamp them out of existence”.
Earlier, Nigeria’s CDI, Air Vice Marshal Monday Riku Morgan expressed “sympathy with the entire community of France , and particularly the people of Paris, for the mischievous attack carried out ‎by the terrorists on their city”.
“As a nation, we understand the feelings that you are going through right now, because we have the same nuisance in our hands” he said.
He reminded his Gormert of the visit of President Buhari to France early this year, “which brought about the serious synergy that both security organizations have today, between the French government and Nigeria in terms of intelligence sharing”.
“I want to assure you that your visit is highly plausible. I recall that during a visit to Senegal with the Chief of Defence Staff, we spoke on very serious bilateral issues on the need to encourage our Francophone brother nations to give us the neccesary support to defeat Boko Haram.
“We think that henceforth, such daily intelligence sharing will keep happening and this will effectively change the situation in the north east”, AVM Morgan said.

Motorists Get Free Fuel In Kaduna

download (25)

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), has dispensed fuel to motorists and motorcyclists for free in a filling station in Kaduna State.
The station, Samrada Nigeria Limited, located at Romi Junction in the state capital, was said to have a total of 19, 500 litres of fuel which it was hoarding.
The agency, led by the Zonal Controller, Usman Ndanusa, during its routine inspection of petrol stations across the state, discovered that the petrol station was also selling above the Federal Government’s approved price of 87 Naira per litre, only at night.
The Manager of the filling station however complained of not getting the product from the depot at government approved price, hence they have to adjust their retail prices.
The DPR officials also ordered another filling station along Romi Road to reverse to the 87 Naira pump price per litre, as against the 135 Naira it was selling. The owner of the filling station was fined the sum of 100,000 Naira for selling above the approved pump price.
The controller explained that the punitive measure would serve as deterrent to other hoarders. He said the agency was poised to ensure that the commodity was properly distributed among commuters.
