Iconic Nigerian reggae singer Majek Fashek stepped out
for the first time post-rehab at the 2015 edition of the annual
Felabration festival.
The Send Down the Rain
singer was pictured backstage at the show preparing for his first performance
following his stint at rehabilitation center in Abuja for substance abuse.
At the event, Majek made a ground breaking entrance with his red
garment while ringing a bell.
The legendary reggae singer
took his fans down memory lane with a top notch performance.
His set was spiced up by
Fela’ first son, Femi Kuti on the trumpet.
Fashek had battled
with drugs and alcohol abuse for years. He was eventually checked
into a rehabilitation centre following a social media outcry at his
deterioration. His stay in rehab was reportedly sponsored by popular Warri
billionaire Ayiri Emani.
Felabration 2015 kicked off
on Monday, October 12 and so far has been dominated by great performances
from top Nigerian musicians.
