That awks moment when your awards show date goes to prison.
Miley Cyrus took homeless youth Jesse Helt to the VMAs
Remember when we all got that warm feeling in our hearts when Miley Cyrus stunned the world by showing up to the MTV VMAs with homeless Jesse Helt?
Well, Miley’s one-time awards show date Jesse, 22, has been told he won’t be able to walk anymore red carpets for the next six months, as a judge has sent him to prison.
Cue an awks couple of days for Miley, or maybe she’ll just post a selfie to sum it all up.
Miley Cyrus looks like she hasn't heard about Jesse's bad luck, as she snaps a selfie in the tub.
The homeless aspiring model was only fingered by the cops after
his mug got plastered around the whole world when the Bangerz babe took
him to the VMAs to collect her award, which resulted in the cops
knowing exactly where he was...woops!Fortunately for Miley Jesse isn’t an escaped axe murderer, but it seems that he can’t quite manage to keep to his word, as he’s been sent back to the Big House for failing to honour a probation agreement.
Jesse, according to the Independent, appeared in court and asked Judge Monte Campbell to be lenient with the sentencing, as he wanted to “Be viewed as a good person, not a nuisance to society”.
But apparently Jesse and the Judge didn’t see eye to eye, so the unlucky homeless man was sent back to prison for his original crime of criminal mischief, criminal trespass and burglary.
Maybe because on top of skipping his probation he was also seen rubbing shoulders with anyone who’s anyone in the music biz on August 22nd?
In a bid to make a stand on behalf of the 1.6million homeless youths across America, Miley took homeless Jesse Helt along to the ceremony as her date.
She even sent him on stage to collect her award for Video Of The Year, where he exposed who he really was and made a powerful speech, all while Miley could be seen blubbing in the background.
Despite Katy Perry's less-than-impressed reaction in the audience.
However, rather than get the world talking about the issue of homelessness in the US as intended, Miley appears to have accidentally revealed Jesse Helt to be a known criminal that is wanted by the police for repeatedly violating his probation.
Oops?
Some cynics were also shocked to discover that he very much does have a home but it's back in Oregon and he left his family in order to go to Los Angeles and become a model.
We have to admit that it's not looking good, and Miley isn't happy.
"I hope that this can be the start of a national conversation about youth homelessness and how to end it. Does looking down upon the homeless help people excuse their inaction?
"The media never fails to disappoint me. You've chosen to go after Jesse instead of covering the issue of youth homelessness.
"While they obsess over one homeless man's legal issues let's help the other 1.6 million."
