Gunmen kidnap 4-Year Old Boy At Home In Ogun

Armed kidnappers, numbering four, on Monday evening abducted a four-year old boy in Abeokuta,the Ogun State capital. The victim, Steve Kanu, is a nursery one pupil of Mercyland International Private Nursery and Primary School in Abeokuta.

Residents said the gunmen stormed the victim parents’ home at Laderin Estate and took him away.

The mother of the boy told Premium Times that the gunmen stormed the house when Steve was playing with a puppy in the compound, while she (mother) was busy with household chores.

She said the suspected gunmen, including a lady, pretended to be visitors and knocked the gate of the house, when the boy, who was busy playing with the dog in the compound, rushed to open the gate.

Residents said the boy was immediately taken into a waiting taxi with no registration number which zoomed off.

They said they chased the abductors to no avail before they disappeared shooting sporadically in the air.

When contacted, the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyemesi, said all police formations in the state had been notified and directed to fish out the suspected kidnappers.

However, the parents of the boy implored anyone with useful information on the whereabouts of their son to contact them via telephone numbers  08033258190 and 08060577733.

Mr. Oyemesi expressed the hope that the boy would soon be re-united with his family.

Two students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta was shot dead yesterday, November 3, 2015 during a cult clash in Ogun State.

The students, who had just finished writing their final year exams yesterday, were shot dead at Onikolobo, during a jubilation celebrating their success at school. They were shot dead by a rivalry group, a witness said.

Another traffic robbery in Lagos this morning...

This one happened early this morning around past 6am. Three guys attacked the owner of this car as she descended the bridge to enter Victoria Island (Muson Centre area) on her way to work. They broke the driver and passenger's side glasses, took her phone and her chain. Luckily for her she said she kept her bag in the booth because of similar stories she'd read online. The government shuld really do something about the situation. it is getting really serious.

 Thank God she was not hurt.

Man kills wife's lover after finding them in bed together

Samson Malesi, 27, a guard with a security firm in Nairobi killed his wife's lover on Sunday night Nov. 1st after finding them in bed together. The victim (pictured above) Simon Wafula, 37, was stabbed several times in the stomach. It didn't end there, Malesi then drove a nail into his head, killing him instantly.

Witnesses said Malesi burst in on the two after relatives and neighbours tipped him of an ongoing affair. 

Wafula's wife of eight years Beatrice told The Star that her husband had left home to attend a funeral in the neighboring village on Sunday night.

"We were shocked to receive the news that my husband, whom we have five children with, had been killed after being found with another man’s wife," Beatrice said.

Bungoma South police boss said the father of four has been arrested and will be charged with murder as soon as investigations are complete. Malesi's wife has since gone missing.

So many account holders could not withdraw from their accounts because their BVN has not been linked with their accounts. However, it is worthy to note that, in this pandemonium, scammers are having a great time, deceiving and cashing out on million of Nigerians.

 “Please read this carefully, it may save you a few hundred, or a few thousand, or may be a few million bucks. It’s a personal experience, a true event that happened this afternoon. I am Sunday Adewole, I just fell victim of fraudsters a few hours ago. I am an account holder with StanbicIBTC bank, I am trying to put fund together to pay for my daughter’s tuition fee in CU in which case the institution already resumed last week.

Yesterday afternoon,  I got a call from somebody purportedly from Stanbic IBTC who said “Am I speaking with Dr. Adewole” (called out my other names) to which I answered in the affirmative. He said he called in respect of my BVN which I was observed not to have done, I replied that I already had it done with Skye bank and he said the bank will send me a link so that my account with Stanbic will be linked with the BVN. True to our conversation, I receive a message from StanbicIBTC in which an OTP was sent to my phone.

A few minutes later, he called to ask if I got the the SMS, I told him yes but I can’t do anything about it cos I was driving. He said no problem I should call out the numbers which I did and he thanked me for my cooperation in a customer service manner. I heard nothing since then till this afternoon at precisely 13:00 hrs when I received a SMS from StanbicIBTC informing me of a debit transaction which cleared my account to the lowest thousand, i.e. I was left with a paltry N685 (six hundred and eighty five naira).

I called my account officer who confirmed to me that I have fallen victim of fraudsters and he checked up on my account and saw that the recipient acct is in First Bank. My puzzle is how did they get my account details? How were they able to generate an OTP to my phone. I am waiting to see what my bank would do on it. In the mean time, please be aware of what the 419 people can do. I’ll keep you posted on any new development.”

Ibrahim Mu’ azu, Director, Corporate Communications of the CBN released the statement via the apex bank’s website. Mu’azu revealed that some scammers are sending messages to bank customers indicating their account have been deactivated due to the BVN deadline to fleece innocent Nigerians.

Woman Arrested With 4.450Kg Of Cocaine At Lagos Airport

Reports made it known that the woman, who is a trader, was caught with 4.450 kilogramme of cocaine at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos. When the Kwara state indegene was quizzed by the officials,  she gave her ill-health as an excuse. She said she became involved in drug trafficking after she suffered an ailment that took away all her resources. She said: “I was married but later separated. I am the only person taking care of myself.”

She was arrested alongside another woman who said her husband’s lack of support pushed her into the illegal drug business.

However, NDLEA in a statement yesterday, October 2, said the two suspected female drug traffickers are currently assisting narcotic investigators with relevant facts relating to the exportation of 4.450kg of cocaine to India and 7kg of cannabis to China.

World War 2 Bomb Discovered At German Airport

A World War II bomb was destroyed in a controlled explosion Monday at the main international airport in the western German city of Duesseldorf, briefly halting air traffic.

Flights at the hub, Germany’s third busiest in terms of passengers, were interrupted for an hour in the morning while the 125-kilogramme (275-pound) bomb was neutralised, the airport said in a statement.

Two departing flights and five arrivals were axed from the schedule and 34 other flights had to be brought forward or delayed on safety grounds, an airport spokesman said.

The bomb had been discovered overnight near the main runway during construction work. Before it was exploded, the bomb was placed in an eight-metre (26-foot) deep hole to limit any collateral damage.

“The bang of the detonation could be clearly heard near the airport,” the city said in a statement.

Authorities fear other bombs might still be hidden beneath the earth at Duesseldorf airport and further digs are planned this month to comb the grounds for WWII-era explosives.

In 2009, a 500-kilo bomb was unearthed near the site and destroyed.

Seventy years after the end of fighting, parts of Germany remain riddled with unexploded bombs from the Allied campaigns, and construction workers regularly uncover them, often leading to mass evacuations.
