Church Aborts Couple’s Wedding Over Groom Refuse To Remove Designer Shoes

omggg
What was planned as a day of joyful union between a couple (names withheld) weekend turned awry as the spiritual leader of a fast growing miracle church in Benin City, Edo State capital declined to wed a couple following the refusal of the groom to pull his Italian designer shoes before entry into the church.
Worshipers, friends, family members and well-wishers who stormed the church were disappointed as the groom, who claimed he bought his shoes for N50,000, was adamant as he shunned pleas from his bride to comply with the rules of the church.
According to a source in the know, the church is reputed for miracles which have led to the influx of new converts from residents in the vicinity. It was learnt that the groom’s who was expected to prevail on the groom shunned all effort to ensure that the wedding took place.
Meanwhile, as the drama raged, guests and well-wishers who were seated under the canopies for reception at the same venue were lavishly entertained by hired caterers as the confusion between the church’s overseer and the couple.
The beautiful bride who refused to be consoled over the incident wept profusely before church members, and the groom soon followed as tears freely ran down his cheeks.
A senior pastor in the church who does not want his name in print said: “It is quite unfortunate that the groom is adamant.
“We expected that the bride who is our member must have educated him enough.
It is not new among our members.
Politicians, business moguls who often visit comply with our ways of worship and I must say that what we do here is divine and biblical.

A Bearded Guy Meets a Stranger on a Plane Who Looks Exactly Like Him

Here's Neil (right) and his beardy, ginger twin stranger who we're almost convinced is his actual twin.

These two men are not brothers! Last week on the flight from London to Galway, 32-year-old Neil Douglas met a man that looked exactly like him. The doppelganger, 35-year-old Robert Stirling, had changed seats so that a couple could sit together.

Really strange and amazing.

South African Women Protest Against Sexualized Painting Of Zuma

Female supporters of South African President Jacob Zuma on Friday marched through the capital Pretoria to defend him against attacks including a satirical painting depicting him engaged in a sex act.
Several hundred members of African National Congress Women’s League (ANCWL) rallied outside the Union Buildings, the official seat of the government, where huge student protests were held last week.
The emergence of a nationwide student protest movement has shaken Zuma’s government amid dire economic data, high unemployment and growing mistrust of the ANC two decades after the end of apartheid.
The ANC Women’s League held its march to demonstrate its loyalty to Zuma, 73, who was recently depicted in the graphic painting by a local artist Ayanda Mabulu.
“The painting denigrates the president, not just him, but women as well, given how a woman is portrayed,” Toko Xasa, ANCWL spokeswoman, told AFP.
“We can’t allow that to happen.”
An ANCWL statement before the march attacked “the portrayal of the President’s genitals in the mouth of a woman,” and said the event would celebrate Zuma’s role in transforming the country since apartheid.
“We, therefore, stand firm in saying ‘hands off President Zuma’ as the leader of the (ANC) organisation and father of the nation,” it said.
Entitled “The Pornography of Power”, the brightly coloured painting depicts Zuma in a sex act surrounded by symbols and characters that the artist said represent rape, colonialism, slavery and exploitation.
Mabulu, the artist, defended his work and said that the protest was misguided.

GA woman was crushed by a speeding car on Wednesday while her two-year-old baby was injured as they were crossing the Abuja-Zuba expressway.
It was gathered that the deceased, a newspaper vendor, simply identified as Mama Favor, was carrying the baby on her back as she dashed to across the ever-busy expressway when a hit-and-run driver knocked her down.
A witness said the baby was flung into a gutter by the roadside while the mother  lay lifeless on the centre of the road.
The witness who faulted the deceased for not making use of the pedestrian bridge, said she was still lying unconscious on the road and about three other cars ran over her before her body was evacuated.
He said the driver ran away while the mangled corpse was moved away by NEMA officials and police officers who arrived the scene almost immediately, adding that the baby was rescued alive.
Similarly, an elderly man lost his life after he was knocked down by a speeding car in the same area.
It was gathered that the deceased, a Nigerien, identified as Mahaman Hachimuo, was crossing the expressway when he met his death.
A witness said efforts by the driver to avoid hitting the man did not succeed as the deceased rammed onto the wind screen smashing with the particles of the glass injuring the driver.
According to the witness, the deceased was immediately taken to the Kubwa General Hospital by officials of the FRSC, along with the driver.
Confirming the two accidents, the Dutse Divisional Police Officer, SP Hajiya Aisha Yusuf, said the baby was receiving treatment at the paediatric unit of the hospital, while both corpses had been deposited at the morgue.

The Cross River Government has suspended indefinitely, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Anne Odey, for “flouting civil service rules”, amid a controversy over ban of morning and afternoon prayer sessions in schools.
Jude Ngaji, the State Security Adviser to Gov, Ben Ayade, disclosed this on Friday in Calabar while speaking to journalists.
Mrs. Odey in a statement had directed all private and public primary and secondary schools in the state to stop morning and afternoon devotion forthwith.
According to her, the directives came from the Commissioner of Police, Henry Fadairo, in view of the security challenges facing the nation.
On Wednesday, the state Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Archbishop Joseph Ukpo, in a statement, called on the state government to immediately withdraw such directive.
The CAN leader said that such directive negated freedom of worship.
“This directive to suspend morning devotion will negatively affect the moral upbringing of our children who are the future leaders of this country,’’ the statement stated.

Russian Plane Crashes In Sinai, Reportedly killing All 224 People On Board

A Russian passenger airliner crashed early Saturday in the Sinai Peninsula, with 224 people aboard, officials said.

All passengers were killed, the Russian Embassy in Cairo said on Twitter.
Russian state media reported that many of the 217 passengers were Russians returning from vacation. The passengers were reported to include 17 children. There were seven crew members.
The plane had departed the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh in the Sinai on a flight to St. Petersburg, Russia.
Here’s what we are learning as the day wears on:
• Al-Ahram, an Egyptian state-run newspaper, quoting medical sources, reports that 100 intact bodies have been recovered and are being prepared for transfer to a morgue in Cairo, but other bodies are in pieces. The recovery of 100 bodies this quickly from a smoldering wreck seems highly unlikely, however.
• Bodies of plane crash victims are being recovered from the crash site, the Russian Embassy in Cairo says on its official Twitter account.
• An Egyptian investigation team has reached the crash site of the crashed jet in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, state-run Nile TV reports, citing the minister of civil aviation.
• Airbus, the plane’s maker, issues a statement on Twitter: “We are aware of the media reports,” the tweet reads. “Efforts are now going towards assessing the situation. We’ll provide more information as soon as available.”

Banks To Demand BVN From Today

BVN
Deposit Money Banks will from today (Monday) begin to request for the Bank Verification Numbers from their customers before providing basic banking services.
This followed the Saturday expiration of the October 31, 2015 deadline set by the Central Bank of Nigeria for all bank customers to obtain their BVN.
As of Friday, the Nigeria Interbank Settlement System Plc, the organisation in charge of the BVN project, said 20.8 million customers had so far registered and obtained their BVN.
The NIBSS, which is owned by the CBN and the DMBs, had last week said it had spent over N8bn on the BVN project.
According to the Managing Director, NIBSS, Mr. Ayo Shonubi, there are 45 million bank accounts in the country.
But the CBN has said that the number of bank customers who have not obtained their BVN should be far less than this figure given the fact that an average Nigerian owns about two to three bank accounts.
“Given the tradition of multiple account-holding by an average Nigerian, which could be conservatively estimated at about two or three per an account holder, therefore, it could be safely assumed that over 40 million accounts might have been enrolled to the BVN,” the central bank explained on Thursday.
“Furthermore, some Nigerian bank customers in the Diaspora have taken advantage of more facilities provided for enrolment in more locations abroad.
“It is evident that there has been less pressure in banking halls across the country, which goes to buttress the fact that a greater percentage of account holders have been enrolled with the exception of those yet to link their accounts to their BVN.”
Shonubi had last Monday expressed optimism that all bank customers would register before the October 31 deadline.
As of Friday, only a handful of customers seeking to obtain the BVN were noticed in banking halls across the country.
