She famously got given the boot after just three days on the job.
And now Kelly Brook has shed some new light on her very short stint on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009 – revealing that Simon Cowell hired her without actually knowing why she was famous.
Clearly he didn’t read her CV particularly closely.
In her biography, currently being serialised in The Sun this week, the 34-year-old revealed that on her first day, Simon inadvertently exposed his lack of knowledge about what exactly it was she did as a job.
She explained: "Half way through filming he said: 'You're a singer aren't you, Kelly?'
"'No,' I replied.
"'Are you sure?' 'Absolutely.' "
Well that’s awkward.
The Piranha 3D actress went on to detail her anger over being abruptly sacked not three days later from the show.
She said: "I left at the end of the third day, then my agent rang me and said: 'I don't know how to say this but they don't want you back.'
"I was angry and hurt, and the first thing I said is not printable!"
After she had time to cool down, Kelly received a phone call from Simon, explaining that he had been under pressure to sack her and that "some people had been jealous".
She added: "There is an expression that comes to mind - be careful what you wish for. And honestly, what you shouldn't ever wish for is a telephone call from Simon Cowell."
