Sons on Ebola patient Nancy Writebol’s release from hospital: She's 'happy to be healed'

Nancy Writebol, one of two Americans infected with the virus, was discharged from an Atlanta hospital on Tuesday. She arrived at Emory University Hospital on Aug. 5, just days after another Ebola victim, Dr. Kent Brantly, was admitted.
Writebol contracted the virus while in Liberia doing missionary aid work. Her release from the hospital was the first time she and her husband, David, could physically be with each other in nearly a month.

“It was a beautiful time. They were just able to be together and to see one other for the first time in several weeks,” Brian said. “It was really, really good.”
Jeremy said his mother is not sure whether she will return to Africa but "she's still thinking about it" and is discussing the option with her husband.

"Africa is still in their heart and the suffering and the people in western Africa is still very deep in them," Jeremy explained. His parents hope their time spent recovering "will give them some clarity on what to do next and where to go."
For now, Nancy Writebol continues to regain her strength, and the only thing she wants to do is focus on quietly recovering with her husband.
“She’s tired and trying to rest,” Jeremy said. “There’s still some physical recovery that has to go on there but her color is good and strong.”
The Writebols said that their mother believes several factors played into her amazing recovery, including her Christian faith and the care she received at the hospital. They also believe an experimental treatment she received helped, "but certainly, that supportive care at Emory was huge."

Idris and make-up artist Naiyana, who is part Chinese/ part Caucasian, welcomed a son Winston in April this year. Idris also has an 11year old daughter, Isan from his ex-wife Dormowa Sherman.

The reality star posted a pic to Instagram of her wearing a corset to get that 'hourglass' shape.

Kim Kardashian has spoken a lot recently on wanting to lose weight and get in shape after giving birth to her daughter a year ago. And now, the 33-year-old reality star is showing us what shape she wants to get into: cartoon hourglass.

Kim took to Instagram to post a photo of her wearing a corset-style device meant to define your waist by literally reshaping your body. She captioned the photo, "#hourglass #waisttraining #nophotoshopnecessary."

The device, which Kim apparently got from this strangely fake looking website, is supposed to help Kim achieve that Jessica Rabbit look you can only get from either being animated or wearing medical devices first used 4,000 years ago.

Except, that is, for the fact she is already capable of holding the container on her own.

Even more incredibly, her mother claims she has been doing it since she was three days old. The strength of her grip at such a tender age has amazed her family and medics. 

Her mother Onyi Chiedozie, 20, said: ‘When we were feeding, she started shaking, then she just grabbed the bottle. She was holding it by herself.

‘We couldn’t believe it because babies don’t normally do it that young. I’m so shocked that I have been documenting it every day. It’s unbelievable.

Miss Chiedozie also breastfeeds Amara regularly. She said: ‘The breastfeeding is better now – it’s comfortable. It used to be painful and sore before but it’s good now.

‘When she breastfeeds she is touching and holding on to me. It’s a really nice experience and way to bond.’ Babies are usually able to hold a bottle unaided from around six months.

Parents’ charity NCT warns on its website against letting them feed themselves. It advises: ‘If you give your baby a bottle, always hold the bottle and your baby whilst feeding. It’s not safe to leave babies to feed themselves or to prop up a bottle; if they choke they won’t be able to push the bottle away.’

The charity also warns that babies can choke on something as small as a grape and should not be left alone while feeding or eating.

Ebola travel: South Africa bans incomers from W Africa

 

Kenya has not reported any cases of Ebola, but is a common transit point for African travellers

South Africa says non-citizens arriving from Ebola-affected areas of West Africa will not be allowed into the country, with borders closed to people from Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

All non-essential outgoing travel to the affected countries has been banned.
Senegal also said it was suspending flights with Ebola-affected countries, and closing the border with Guinea.
Cameroon and the Ivory Coast earlier imposed travel bans, despite World Health Organization warnings not to.
Medium-risk South African nationals will be allowed to re-enter the country when returning from high-risk countries, but will undergo strict screening, the health ministry said on Thursday.
Usual screening procedures are in place for those who travel between Nigeria, Kenya and Ethiopia, which have been defined as medium-risk countries.

South Africa has experienced two Ebola scares in recent weeks, involving passengers arriving from Liberia and Guinea, but the country has so far remained Ebola-free.
Johannesburg has one of the major transit airports, connecting southern Africa with the rest of the continent. Several airlines, including British Airways and Emirates Airlines, have stopped flights to some of the affected countries.
Meanwhile, Senegal's interior ministry announced on Friday it was closing the land borders with Guinea "once again".
Senegal shut its border with Guinea for the first time in March after the virus reached the capital Conakry.
In a statement, it said this extends to "air and sea borders for aircraft and ships from the Republic of Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia".
AU team Separately, the African Union (AU) announced plans to send a special team to the four affected countries.
The six-month-long operation, involving volunteer doctors, nurses and medical personnel, will cost about $25m (£15m) and begin immediately, the AU said in a statement.
Aid workers and medical staff are most exposed to the virus, and have been most at risk of becoming infected. Two US aid workers were discharged from hospital on Tuesday, after recovering from the virus they contracted in Liberia.

The Mariah Carey divorce is reportedly a done deal, with TMZ reporting that a property settlement and custody agreement has been negotiated and finalized. In addition to liberal visitation with the couple’s two children, Nick Cannon stands to get a big chunk of Carey’s $500 million fortune. With four homes, a $5 million private jet and a lot full of pricey cars between them, the divorce settlement may make Cannon even wealthier than he already is.
Celebrity Net Worth states that Nick, 33, is not in the poor house with a personal net worth of around $20 million, but he stands to make major bank if he gets a piece of Mariah’s hefty bank account. She is reportedly worth well over $500 million, but In Touch recently reported that Mariah won’t be handing over her fortune “without a fight,” and is trying to keep Nick from cashing in on her wealth.
